"In January 2009 I decided I wanted to make a difference and help a charity. I made the choice of taking part in the Swimathon 2009, which was to help aid the Marie Curie Cancer Care, due to it helping such a good cause I made the decision that if I could raise over £2000, I would swim the 200 lengths in Ladies swim wear, after 3 months training and gaining sponsors I managed to raise a fantastic £2465 and had to do the swim as promised in Ladies swim wear!"
When I visited the Hospice I could see the benefit of such an organisation, the facilities they provided and the life and care they give to a patient, but they couldn't provide this care without our helpt. It costs £8800 a day to run a hospice and without this care patients can not get the much needed support and comfort they deserve. Just £20 provides one hours care for a terminally ill patient.

After completing my swimathon I decided I wanted to do more, and with the Help of the Fox Inn on Holgate Road York, we decided to set up a football team that would help Support the Marie Curie Cancer Care. All funds raised through the season, via Sponsorship, weekly playing subs and fundraising evenings would be split between the club and the Marie Curie, which would then provide much needed funds to the charity. In our first season we raised £2800 for the Marie Curie Cancer Care, we will continue as a team to push forward and raise more and more as the seasons go on
In April 2009 I visited a Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford to see the amazing work they do. Seeing the Hospice inspired me to do further volunteer work for the Marie Curie, they offer an unbelievable service that provides support and care to terminally ill patients and their families. The Marie Curie Cancer Care help and guide people and give them strength to understand the illness and come to terms with it.
Plans for the the 2010/2011 Season
Following on from our first 2 seasons, going forward into season 3, Fox FC will be supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care and Help for Heroes, We will be looking to build on previous years success and raise a vast amount of money for these 2 charities. The Fox FC is a club that has been set up to help people, and we will stride forward as a team to raise thousands for these good causes. If you would like to support us in any way you can, please contact me at lee@ihelped.info.

The Fox FC is a passion of mine, we are not just a standard football club but a club that care for our community and respect each other. It has taken some time to build the club, but the club has now got some solid foundations and support in the back ground.

I work a full time job running a company, however in my spare time I like to help charity and raise thousands for good causes. Since I started Ihelped we have raised over £5000 in two years for Cancer Care. My aim to to smash that figure each year, as this will make such a difference to people's lifes. I am very passionate about what I do and the Football club is now part of that passion, instead of just me now, we have a football team backing it and pushing the Ihelped support.

To often in this world we sit back, look and watch other people doing things, as its easier to do that. But the hard work and effort is very rewarding when you see how the money raised benefits people, it inspires you to do more and drives you forward. A lot of us are very lucky, we have our health, but some people are not so lucky and need our love, support, care and financial support and that is what I, and the Fox FC is about.....making a difference!
